Boys 110 High Hurdles

Handheld times are not reflected on the all-time lists or records as they have been converted to fully automatic times.

In the 1920’s -1930’s the hurdles were run as the 100 yards high hurdles, 120 yards low hurdles and 120 yards high hurdles, but the official race was the 120 yards high hurdles (42” hurdles).  From 1947 to the present the hurdles were lowered to 39”.   On the Frosh-Soph level in the 1920’s -1930’s the hurdles were run at 75 or 100 yards and then to 120 yards low and high hurdles thereafter.  The conversion from 42” to 39” hurdles is the subtraction of .4 seconds.  In 1980 the event changed to 110 meters.  The conversion of 120 yards high hurdle times to 110 meters high hurdles is a negligible multiplier of 1.0025 and so no conversion is necessary.  Hand held times have added .24 of a second to convert to electronic timing.
