Boys Triple Jump

The Triple Jump became an official event in 1973.  Prior to that time the event known as the hop, step and jump was competed in exhibition and invitational meets only.   In 1939 when the event was first introduced by the CIF and in 1960 as well, the event was non-scoring at the CIF State Meet.   After two isolated years of 1939 and 1960 and 34 years later, the CIF finally made it an official scoring event in 1973.
